One of our workers was in a visit for the relief program and while he was driving, shooting started and some people opened the cabin of the car and put a man there and told him to take him to the hospital directly !!( the car was shown on alarabia TV) . Thank God for his safety. also a bullet went into our staff's home, where he and his daughter where just sitting under the window, when there was no electricity at night, it broke the window, burned the curtain, went to chair, table and then to cupboard where it explode between the wall and the cupboard.. Thank God for their safety. they left their home now to his parents' home. Also the bus driver for one of the church's programs for children was killed by 2 bullets inside his chest and heart, while he was sitting in front of his home, he is 24 years old, got married 4 months ago !!
The situation yesterday and today is better, we still hear shooting but not in a continuous way as before ! please keep us in your prayers.

So as you can see the situation in Gaza has been very serious and the team there is in need of our continuous prayer support. They are still very active despite all the problems. Pray for protection and wisdom and that in this very dark time in Gaza that the LIGHT of Christ will shine BRIGHTLY!
Blessings
Andrew for the CP team.

Calvary Fellowship Ottawa Update

Here's an update from Andy, Pastor of Calvary Fellowship Ottawa,
Canada. By the way, Andy will be at Calvary Chapel Kendall on January
17. Gen, his wife, will be leading worship that night and Andy will
be teaching.
Hello everybody,

We had a great time. About 60-70 people showed up, the music was awesome. Luc asked Gen to accompany him, and then asked her to do a song by herself. Such a sweet time. Colin and his brother Sylvain also played that night, some great songs from his new album. Even their friend Ken Mahoney came out and played a song he had written. Lot's of musicians, very good music, lot's of talent, and lot's of references to Jesus and what He had done in their lives.

Café Supreme is a dream to work with. Javid is the owner and he's originally from Pakistan, although I would say he's very westernized. He told me that when he came in that morning, he had a terrible headache, took 4 Tylenol's and wasn't sure how he was going to make it through the day. At noon, it was still with him, when Gen came in at around 4pm, she could tell he was really not doing well. He told me around 8pm, that when we started, the headache just left. He had a great night physically and financially. He made a couple of comments that lead us to believe that it was a powerful witness to him. His employee Dominic also had a great night, they got signed copies of the cd's, heard a clear witness for Jesus, and told us that they were ready for the next concert.

We had a wide variety of people show up. Lot's of friends and family of the people in the church, some friends and family of the musicians. There was also a few guys from Lifehouse, the 6 month drug treatment program that came out. They had a great time, and we got to talk to them. Some people came from an hour away, that had heard about it. Somehow, it ended up on a community service announcement on the radio, and we had a couple of guys that work on Parliament Hill show up too. We had a couple of walk-ins, weren't sure what was going on, but stuck around, enjoyed the music, and one lady, even though she wasn't all that keen on Jesus, told me that she was a musician, her daughter did 'gospel' music, and ended up buying a cd! The
other odd thing that happened that night, was there were 3 couples there, that at one time were senior pastors, and were all out of the ministry now. That was interesting, and I'm not totally sure what the Lord was doing by drawing them there that night. At any rate they were encouraged, and I got to talk to each one and hear a bit of their story.

It was great to see some people in the church, plugging in and serving, and I think it sent a message to the fellowship that we are about outreach, being in the community, having fun, and telling people about Jesus. Everyone walked away, musicians, Javid, friends, family, wanting to know when the next one would be.

There were several points in the night where you could tell the Holy Spirit was really working. It wasn't a typical concert, we had about 30 minutes of music, a 30 minute break, and then another 40 minutes or so of a final set. The fellowship was rich, the music was great, the sharing was open and honest, it was a clear encouragement to the people that came.

Thanks so much for your prayers. No one that I know accepted Jesus that night. Many seeds were sown. I know we were doing exactly what the Lord wanted us to be doing. I know that he drew some people there that night, just miraculously. I know that believers were encouraged, and I'm sure that I will hear in years to come, testimony of what God did that night in hearts.

Next up, Christmas in the Park. Details coming soon. Basically, we'll be back, weather permitting, in the park downtown, across from the Beer Store, from 5:30-6:30 on Christmas Eve, with candles, coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, some homemade holiday baking, singing Christmas Carols, and reading the Christmas Story. We are planning on canvassing the neighborhood to invite the neighbors. This could be a great time to make a clear presentation of Jesus to people that wouldn't come to church.

thanks again for partnering with us in the spread of the gospel, you will have a great reward,

Andy

Andy Falleur
Calvary Fellowship
andy@calvaryottawa.ca
www.calvaryottawa.ca

Reflections on Nairobi Outreach

Jesus Atencio, one of the brothers from the fellowship here, wrote this about his recent missions trip to Africa:

These are only a few words of the wonderful and great experience it is when a group of 15 believers from different parts of the United States set their hearts to work side by side with the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in all of us and the people we got to touch with during the Mission Trip to Nairobi, Kenya Africa for the weeks of August 10th through the 24th, 2006. Psalm 16:11 says, "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

The best way I can describe this mission trip to Nairobi and maybe the mission field over all in just a few words is that it is a walk of faith and total submission and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. Before this wonderful mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya (Africa), God spoke to me through His word in James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Also, in 2 Corinthians 3:2-3, "You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." Therefore, as ambassador of Christ, these scriptures describe every believer as a letter from God Himself and for this mission trip to teach the Gospel by words and in actions and help the needy, this includes the little ones and the widows. So then, when people see our life as we proclaim the good news to others, let them see that it is not by our own ambition or our strength but by God’s and through the Holy Spirit. We are His letter written not by human hands but through His Spirit. That will set direction in our life, in our constant walk with the Spirit and in search of our Lord’s will and heart. That molds my character to be more gentle and sensitive to other’s needs. Also, to strive to become a humble person, not better than others but to embrace everyone with love, specially the less fortunate ones. Only then, will I be more effective for the Lord’s Kingdom to share with the lost in this world to receive God’s word, and to encourage others to follow our Lord Jesus Christ.

When I dedicated my time completely to the Lord for those 2 weeks, day and night, removing myself from my comfort zone in a totally different environment and culture only focusing on God’s will, I noticed the Lord through the Holy Spirit reveals so many blessing to me and the members of the team. We also, received many fruits of the Spirit with peace, spiritual growth, purpose and direction in ministries during and after the mission trip. I allowed the Lord to touch me in a personal way by giving total submission to Him. At times there were so many blessings passing by that I was in awe. I was only able to capture a few in a journal at the end of each day. There were many blessings happening at times and at other times as fast as I took a breath. Sometimes I felt the joy of the Lord, at others you see the humble hearts of the brothers in Christ, at other times you feel the pain of the lost, the loss of hope of some people, loss of family members on others. Some times the Lord let me see the tears on people's heart, the pain that they face day in and day out. So the Lord gave us in our hearts the gift and empowered us to share with them through Jesus Christ-His word, to alleviate any pain by giving them hope, faith and direction, and let them use the word of God where they can find strength and know His will.

The Lord revealed and let me see miracles and the joy that comes after His blessings touch their Hearts. I experienced the joy and peace of brotherly kindness. A relationship with our Lord through the body of Christ (His Church) it is pure and honest joy.

I was told by a brother in Christ that just came back from Nairobi, "to have great expectations from the Lord because He is going to do great things there to the people and on you." And let me tell you, it was a trip of a life time. Starting with the first day, on the way to Nairobi, at London, there were over 20 people arrested because terrorist planted liquid bombs in 7 planes. But, on my way to the airport I heard the news, but I didn’t want to be like Peter and sink in the water (once Jesus Christ asked him to step out of the boat and walk on water) and I just had to step in faith and focus on the goal that the Lord has set for us. We arrived in Nairobi, Kenya safely but for must of us on the team the luggage were missing and they were misplaced somewhere in the world for a couple of days but we understood that we could not do anything more but wait. Something else that helped us was knowing that we were there to serve the Lord and He is the great provider. We prayed not just for the luggage but most of all, for the days ahead and the mission that Christ set for us, that He will strengthen us and for the lives that He will touch through us. I felt that all the commotion on the first day was a wakeup call and a reminder for us not to rely on our own strength but a reminder that the Lord is in control. It was part of growing in faith knowing that God will provide all our needs.

We had the privilege of working with the orphans at S.O.D.A. (Support Orphans and Destitute Academy). It is located at Kibera. It is the second largest and poorest slum in Africa. There were only a few children attending the orphanage due to over crowding. There were a little over 200 children in the orphanage that were being taken care of out of thousands of fatherless children in the city of Nairobi. It was a blessing to be there to see the gentleness and humbleness that the kids had. They were little angels. We had the opportunity to teach the story of Jonah during the VBS (vacation bible school) at SODA for those 3 days in Kibera. Everything went very well even though we started the first day without our luggage and materials for the class. We all had faith that the Lord would provide a way to do His work and He did provide. Also, the Lord blessed us with a great VBS leader that made a great difference. The team was divided in different groups of two’s and different classrooms depending on the age group. Teaching VBS was a totally new experience for me that I really loved. My class was composed mostly of 8-9 years old kids. At the end of VBS, we told the kids the reason why Jesus came here from Heaven and the sacrifice that He did on the cross for you and for me. It was so beautiful to see how kids prayed to God and wanted to receive Christ in their lives.

Early in the week, we had a great experience and how beautiful it was when we went to share the good news with the neighborhood behind the church at Ngando. We went with a guitar and a drum singing songs of worship with the team (Isaiah 52:7) "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!". We proclaimed the Gospel on the street and 2 people accepted Christ and were saved. We distributed flyers and invited everyone to come for the monthly Freedom for Christ concert (free concert) at the Calvary Chapel Nairobi, where Pastor Dave Zavala will be delivering a great message and inviting people to receive Christ. The loveliest experience we had is when a lot of children surrounded us and wanted to hold our hands and wanted affection and love. So they hold our hands all the way to church and we reminded them to come back to church with their families on Sunday.

What a blessing it was to visit the families in N’Gando, Satellite, Kawangware, and in Kibera. It was a great time to fellowship in a more comfortable atmosphere for them at their own homes by sharing their struggles and problems, praying and opening the bible with them. I saw the word of God – Christ giving the comfort, faith, peace, love, joy and the fruits of the Spirit that He promised. I saw many miracles and blessings that only the Lord was able to provide to them. Some of the many blessing that the Lord revealed to me were: a baby being healed of malaria, food and clothes the Lord provided and the best blessing of the hope, faith and love that Jesus Christ gives daily when we come to Him.

It is beyond words the place where they live. The smell on the streets, the dirt every where and how poor human beings live without electricity and running water. The burning of garbage and lack of hygiene became a total different world. At the other side of the coin, Kenya is a beautiful country with gentle and lovely people, with a very strong culture and scenic land with very red soil. It took me a couple of days to get over this overwhelming way of life and the feelings that I had for them under those conditions. I felt that the Lord changed my heart every day. Then, I saw what the Lord wanted for me to see without feeling sorry or pity for them, but God is demonstrating His love through them.

Another day, we had an opportunity to work in construction with brothers in Christ at Calvary Chapel Nairobi. This was another wonderful time to serve the Lord. It was really comfortable working with the team; it was a great time to be with brothers and sisters in the Lord and a great opportunity working and to getting to know each other. I feel that it is my home church away from home.

Every evening coming back from the mission field, the team sat down back in the apartment and we had a few minutes for a daily debrief. I enjoyed sharing with others what the Lord revealed to me and I was able to express the spiritual growth during the mission trip. Also, I was able to listen to the team, how they felt and their spiritual growth. It was a great time to release stress daily from an overwhelming day. Also, every morning we had a daily devotional time where we were fed the word of God, spent time in prayer, and in meditation and planning what the Lord wanted to teach us and the work for that day.

Before I went to Nairobi, the Lord put in my heart the ministry to support the orphans and all the children in Christ at Nairobi by providing them with bibles with the help, support and blessings from our brothers at Calvary Chapel Kendall. Now, I want to continue that ministry that Christ has set up to support the children to grow spiritually at Nairobi, and the children’s ministry here at Kendall as well. I pray daily for the brothers and sisters of Calvary Chapel Nairobi and the team members of the mission trip. I was able to collect many of their email addresses in order to keep in contact with them.

The world seems so small and our Lord Jesus Christ so big. I could find a brother a few minutes a way from my house back in Miami or at the other side of the world. I felt that we were the same in Christ here in the US or in Kenya. So, if someone asks me, what church do I go to? I will have to say, I attend Calvary Chapel Nairobi and Kendall. But the truth is that I belong to a bigger body of believers that the Lord calls the "Church", not built by men but by Jesus Christ.

The trip went above and beyond my expectation. The Lord gave me and showed me the ministries that He wants me to work in and the spiritual growth that is beyond words. And if anyone asks me about going on a mission trip, I would tell them that if you really want to grow spiritually, you can not pass up the opportunity and the experience of a mission trip such as this. It is a great way to grow spiritually, find the ministry that the Lord wants you to work in and get in touch with the Lord in a completely new way. At the same token, you grow 100 times more as you bless others and work in the mission field.

I can’t wait to take another trip and work for the Lord. How wonderful, awesome and beautiful it is working for the Lord so the people can glorify God. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. It should be a great event. The place seats 60, we went through 100 tickets in about a week. They were free, but we made them available to the people in our fellowship, and the Bible Studies throughout the week. There's a real possibility that we will have an overwhelming response. People have been looking for an excuse to invite their friends and family out to an event with the church, and there is a lot of excitement around it. Some of the guys are calling it a Jesus party, because it's all about Jesus, Jesus music, people that love Jesus, and Jesus has changed their lives. Like I said there's a lot of excitement. We have a lot of new believers.

If you could pray:
- that things would go well that night.
- That there wouldn't be too many people. (Although, Luc and the guys agreed to do a second round of sets at 9pm if we need to).
- that there would be an atmosphere that is charged with love, joy and peace. (things that you can't buy, and can't seem to keep).
- that there would be a clear and effective witness for Jesus that night.
- the owner of the place, my new friend Javid, who is a Muslim.

God has done so much in our fellowship since the Men's Conference back in September. We are still experiencing some of the ripples from that. This event has the same feeling. As my friend Luc says "It smells like God!" Pray for us, that we would be faithful to do all that God wants us to do, cooperating with him in witnessing of his love for mankind.

Thanks for your prayers, we love you guys, think about you often, miss you, but appreciate your encouragement and support.

Andy Falleur
Calvary Fellowship
andy@calvaryottawa.ca
www.calvaryottawa.ca
(613) 769-3576

Update: Nairobi, Kenya

Training Pastors of the Least in Nairobi, Kenya

Disciple Support Ministries focuses on training, encouraging, supporting and equipping pastors in Nairobi, Kenya to minister to their own people. The Ministry provides Bible instruction emphasizing clear understanding and practical application of God's Word.

Thank you for your most kind encouragement and prayers for the pastors, ministry and us during the past few days. The riots in the Mathare slum have ceased. Now the extent of the devasation is more clear to all. The numbers of homes destroyed was greater than reported. I walked through the slum Saturday after class with a team of pastors....in part to assist a pastor whose home was damaged. By the grace of God, none of the pastors were injured nor homes totally destroyed. I would estimate 200 families have lost homes...and at least 50 small businesses were destroyed. The fires came within 100 yards of the Bible School. The looting and mayhem was right outside the gate for 4 days.

It was and still is not feasible to take pictures...i attached one that was taken discreetly.

Please pray for the reconstruction and rebuilding of lives, homes and businesses amongst those who had so little to call their own. Please pray especially for the elderly.

Other prayer requests:

For diligence, perseverance and courage in the pastors
For the Construction project of a larger Bible school in Mathare (Feb 07)
For Harvest Workers!
For jobs for our pastors looking for employment
For Marcia and baby's continued health and healing....Joshua Caleb is due mid-February

Reminder....if you emailed us anytime this year and did not hear back, it is because we either did not receive it, or you never received our response.

Please accept our apologies for the continual email problems we have...and please forgive us for any misunderstandings it may have caused you.

God bless you and please keep the pastors, the ministry and us in fervent prayer. Surely, the Lord hears the prayers of His saints.

We love you and miss you!

Paul, Marcia, Isaac (and Joshua Caleb on the way!)
Disciple Support Ministries
Nairobi, Kenya

CC Bible Colege - Peru - Update

From: CC Bible College - Peru <ccbc_peru@yahoo.com>
Date: October 27, 2006 6:13:35 PM EDT
To: Patrick & Janet Sieler <pat@calvarykendall.com>
Subject: What God did in Cajamarca!

Dear Patrick & Janet ,

Below are some exciting highlights from our Cajamarca outreach in the Andes Mountains of northern Peru. After reading the text, please click on the following link to view some pictures:

http://ccbcperu.calvarychapel.com/Iglesia/IglesiasHijasEsp_Cajamarca.html

The people of Cajamarca took notice of the 116 missionaries that "invaded" their city with bright red T-shirts that boldly proclaimed: "Jesus Loves You Cajamarca." Young people from nine countries participated: Belize, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Switzerland and the United States!

The enemy's opposition was intense as spiritual attacks were bold and frequent. Just hours after leaving Lima, one of the two buses narrowly escaped a late-night, head-on, collision, spun off the road and was stuck in a sand bank for several hours.

Then, later in the week, intern Annie French stepped to the side as a falling pane of glass crashed to the ground where she escaped serious injury standing in front of her hotel. It was obvious satan did not want us ministering in Cajamarca!

"Cajamarca is ripe for the Gospel," remarked one team member, "you just shake the tree, and the fruit falls into your hand." People readily stopped to hear our presentations in the parks and plazas, and welcomed conversation. They had lots of questions and begged us to pray for them. They heard the message of hope and new life in Jesus and wanted to meet Him!

Mayor Emilio Horna and the Cajamarca City Council warmly welcomed our team and joined us for Monday's "Mayor's Prayer Breakfast." They watched our mimes and enjoyed the special music, and sincerely appreciated the Gospel message we were bringing to their people. They invited us to participate in a press conference where we were interviewed on several radio stations and on TV.

"Willy" interviewed several team members "live, in-studio" on his popular secular rock station, "NN Radio." He was impressed by testimonies how our young people had found satisfaction in Jesus that they could not find in the world. Willy shared with his attentive worldwide audience (of nearly 1 million people) on-air that "these kids have a special radiance about them that he had never seen before, shining even brighter than rock stars Shakira and Madonna!"

Cynthia had met Jesus years earlier, but the world continued to entice her. She met girls from out team at the central Plaza de Armas one evening and rededicated her life to Jesus. She joined our team and stayed with us the remainder of the time we ministered in Cajamarca. She joyfully commented that she is the first official member of the new church plant: Calvary Chapel Cajamarca.

Our large group split into four teams which visited dozens of schools, orphanages, colleges, a hospital and the local jail. Initially reluctant teachers heard, were later grateful for, the message on biblical values we brought to the children. Doctors and nurses prayed with team members to invite Jesus into their lives. Prison inmates requested Bibles.

Teenage girls at the "Ninas de Belen" orphanage heard a message on sexual purity and abstinence until marriage. The director was so blessed by our visit that she invited the group to return for a second visit. Hundreds of youth were invited to our three-night stadium outreach later in the week.

We printed 26,000 copies of a "tabloid" newspaper we handed out as tracts and invitations to our event. These were very effective, and could be seen read throughout the city. By the way, we have a few left over! If you would like a copy, send us an address and we will mail one out to you!

Although it was rainy season in Cajamarca, the Lord heard our prayers and blessed us with perfectly dry weather for the entire eight days of ministry. The last day, there was a downpour as we prepared for our final stadium event, but we saw the Lord's provision and the concert went on without problems!

For three evenings we offered heart touching films as well as very lively music from our two worship bands in Cajamarca's "Heroes de San Ramon Stadium." The nightly concerts were fun events, and children were ministered to by the eight balloon sculpturing clowns and the face painters. Evangelist Fausto Pflucker came from California to share the evening messages, and over 100 decisions were made to follow Jesus.

Pastor Diego Recarte, who remained behind to establish Calvary Chapel Cajamarca, along with his wife Patty, their two daughters (Luhana and Tamara), and our two Peruvian missionaries, Miluska Panduro and Jose Luis Soto, let us know that 26 new lambs attended the new fellowship this past Sunday morning! We rejoice in the fruit of this outreach and the new church that is forming in Cajamarca!

Thank you so much for supporting us in prayer as we continue to reach out to the people of South America! This event went so well, we are planning other "invasions" for 2007! Your participation enables us to take Jesus' message into the entire world!

Don't forget to click on the following link to take a look at our pictures! That same day, we will also be ministering in the local prision. Throughout the week we will be visiting orphanages, schools and two universities, and sharing Jesus' love in the city parks, plazas and market places.

Four drama teams and as many puppet teams have been rehearsing for weeks, and we'll have a half dozen face-painting, balloon sculpturing, clowns to bless the kids. Two bands are ready to provide lively music to the large crowds we will be ministering to, and a dentist will be offering her services to needy children.

The three-night "gran finale" will be held in the local stadium (Thursday - Friday - Saturday) where we will hold concerts and heart-touching films, plus evangelistic messages with pastor Fausto Pflucker who will be joining us from California.

We have printed 32,000 "newspaper" tracts for the 7-day event, and have purchased 100's of Bibles to give away. Carta da Capela do Calvario do Rio

Hey everyone!
Here is the recent newsletter for the church in Rio.

God bless you!

Alexandre

*****************************************************************************

Dear valued friends of Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro,
Well, it has been one month since the outreach group left and we have completely returned to our normal service to the Lord. We feel that we’re in a season of sowing, but we know that in due season we shall reap, if we do not lese heart. Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
It’s interesting that we never know through what means God is going to use us to reach people. Last month durring evangelism with the Newport Beach team we talked to a guy near the shopping mall. He was interested in what kind of music we were going to play and we had the opportunity to evangelize him. He is the kind of guy who believes that all ways lead to God and thinks that it’s really egoistical to believe that Jesus is the only way. Well, we invited him to the church and told him about the church events and he ended up telling his wife about the english classes at the church, who recently started coming. Here name is Angélica. We are able to share about the Lord through the english classes, and we believe that the Lord may reach her husband through her.
We started a home fellowship on Friday nights in Alessandra’s appartment (one of the girls from the church). She invited one of her friends named Iris multiple times. Iris is Catholic and is someone who would normally never want to set foot in a Christian church. Finally Iris came to the home fellowship and really liked it. Next she started coming to the
English classses in the church. Pray for Iris and Angélica, that they would wholly give their lives to the Lord.

God bless you richly!
Sincerely,
Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro

Praises:
· Praise God for bringing people to the english classes and the home fellowship!
· Praise God that in the right time we will reap the fruit of our labor.
Prayer Requests:
· Pray for the church documentation that needs to be updated and is being processed, as well as Russell’s visa to return to Brazil
· Pray for people to be reached and grow through the home fellowship
· Pray for the English classes
· Pray for our worship ministry, to be organized the way the Lord would have it
· Pray for provision for us to get air condicioning for the church as summer arrives
· Pray about the future slum ministry and God’s direction for that
If you would like be a part of the financial support for Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro money can be sent to:
Calvary Chapel Corvallis
P.O. We had a phenomenal weekend. The
testimonies were full of impact, the times of worship were sweet, the
teaching was rich, the afterglow was smokin'.

Everyone was touched by the time. The only complaint was that it was too
short! Some guys had tears in their eyes at the end of the conference as
they were telling me how God had worked in their lives.

In the afterglow, several guys stood to receive the baptism of the Holy
Spirit. One young man that we still don't know how he found out about the
conference, was so moved by that experience. He's reported a praise and
worship service going on in his head since Friday night. His wife was so
touched to see him come back from the weekend. It seems that the Lord really
worked in his heart.

So many wonderful things happened. It would take a long time to tell you
about them all. What a blessing to be in the middle of what the Lord is
doing.

Thanks so much for your prayers. I have no doubt that the outcome would have
been far different without your prayers. Thanks for taking the time to
intercede. May the Lord richly bless you!

Andy

Andy Falleur
Calvary Fellowship
andy@calvaryottawa.ca
www.calvaryottawa.ca
(613) 769-3576

Andy Falleur - Calvary Fellowship, Ottawa

This is a message from Andy Falleur, pastor of Calvary Fellowship Ottawa, and a good friend.

Hi all,

We are doing great. Gen is healthy, happy, enjoying the remainder of summer. Isabelle and Olivia are growing like weeds, we are trying to enjoy every moment with them, as we are watching them change and mature before our eyes.

My dad is here with us, it's always nice to have Grandpa around to play with and talk to. What a blessing.

This weekend, we are having our 2nd annual Men's Conference here in Ottawa (see link below). Would you consider taking a few moments to pray for us each day from today through Sunday?
As of this moment there are 50 guys signed up to go. About 10 of them are from Montreal and the Calvary Chapel there pastored by Sebastien Frappier. 5 of them are from Perth and the Bible Study that was started by Pastor Dan Schilke. Another 15 or so are from the Ottawa area and attend other churches, or no church at all. Our speaker is Chris McCarrick from Cornerstone Calvary Chapel in Howell, NJ. Our food is provided by Tim Hewitt and Darrell Troup from Calvary Chapel Pasco, in Florida.

As you might have gathered, this thing has gotten gloriously out of control. It took a life of it's own about a month ago, and it has become obvious to me that the Lord is drawing people to this event. Please pray.
Pray for a spirit of fellowship. (that the guys would be friendly, get to know each other, and love would flow, encouragement and prayer).
Pray for powerful times of worship. (God inhabits the praises of his people, so many of these guys are desperate for a touch from God.)
Pray for effective sessions. (that the messages would have a touch of the prophetic, speaking directly into lives, making relevant application).
Pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (that we would have a spirit of humility, drop our denominational jockeying, pride, pecking order, and desire to drink deeply of the Holy Spirit. We have an afterglow planned after the Friday night session.)

Thanks you for your support and prayers in the past. As my friend Brett always says: 'Prayer is the work'. May God richly bless you.

Andy

Andy Falleur
Calvary Fellowship
andy@calvaryottawa.ca
www.calvaryottawa.ca
613) 769-3576
>

Nairobi, Kenya Missions Update 4

Jesus Atencio has returned from his two week mission trip to nairobi and has provided us with these photgraphs. It means Jesus is Lord in Swahili.... Amen!

The Lord is pouring blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of Heaven now on earth. How wonderful, awesome and beautiful it is working for the Lord. Today we had the last lesson at VBS and the kids love it. We finished teaching the Jonah story and we went over the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. The entire class of 8-9 years old kids wanted to received Christ as their Lord. It was so beautiful how some kids seem to pray to God and meant it that they wanted receive Christ in their lives.

After we came back back from lunch we visited a family of 5 kids whose grandmother was taking care of them. We listened to her condition and we prayed for her leg injury and her situation with the kids.

Later in the afternoon we had a farewell party or program where the orphanage went out of their way to treat us with cookies and candy. Also, they danced and sang some songs for us including several speeches from the faculty. We were so grateful and the kids were so happy and they shook our hands goodbye. They really touched my heart.

We only have a few more days to go amd a lot of work ahead of us, visiting families, evangelizing on the streets, working in the church, and visiting another orphanage.

Please keep praying for us and may the Lord light our path.

God bless you!

Jesus A. Well, yes... I am learning a lot of Swahili in order to open doors here in Nairobi. I have been blessed so much every day and I noticed the Lord is changing and molding my heart every day. What a blessing that is. Also, I noticed the Lord pointing my heart on different ministries. I just need to keep praying so the Lord and Holy Spirit direct me on the work set out for me.

We have been visiting families, blessing them with food, getting to know them, and praying for them. Also, we have been working with an orphanage called S.O.D.A. (Support Orphans and Destitute Academy). We have been teaching VBS for over 200 children. They are a bunch of little angels.

The gave a devotional this last Tuesday morning and I night I gave a class on Romans 10. I was told they were edify. Eleven months later we can all look back and simply conclude, "IT IS THE LORD"

As most of you know by now we are in the process of moving the operation from the ball field to the new location. The most current pictures of the new property are now posted on the CCR site.

We wanted to take this time to answer some of your questions and to give you the details what the future holds for this work.

First
We are going to have a dinner banquet at the new location on Wed. night August 23rd. This will be a night were we will look back together on what God has done. We are inviting BSL city officials, residents and the many volunteers from around the country that have participated in this work. We need people to serve at this banquet and we need some worship bands as well.

We are asking all the key leaders and senior pastors that are unable to attend to try and make a short video addressing the BSL community and send it to CCLH by the end of next week.
If you are interested in going please contact Keri or Tony at CCLH ASAP.

Secondly
In order to finish well we need to:
- Finish clean up on the ball field.
- Complete some finishing touches on the new property.
- Prep work for the banquet on Wednesday August 23rd.
- Schedule drivers to drive back several vehicles to California.

We believe we can accomplish this with around 15 -20 more people per week for the next 4 weeks.
The dates for laborers
(Aug 1-8) (Aug 7-14) (Aug 14-21) (Aug 22-24 - Banquet help)

The dates for drivers
Aug 21 - 27

Thirdly
We have 25-35 residents showing up to the church services. We are no longer serving them physical food, only the more important Word of God. Many of you have asked who is going to shepherd this flock. Well, we have prayed for quite some time about this and it looks like God has placed a burden on the heart of Frank Griffin from Baton Rouge. Frank and his wife Teri have been driving out over the last few Sundays and have recently stated that they feel a calling and are willing to take a step of faith and make the drive until God says otherwise.

Fourthly
We believe God has organized a relief ministry through this endeavor. We are bringing a number of the vehicles and trailers back to California to prepare for the next disaster God leads us to. We are currently looking for a place that we can store all of the equipment for future use.

Most of this information will be posted on the CCR web site by days end tomorrow. If you have any questions please feel free to call Tony Leach or Keri Whitley at the CCLH office. Once again time is short so all prompt responses are deeply appreciated.

Blessings,
Calvary Chapel Relief Team

John Bonner with an update from Lima, Peru

This week, our YSOM kids will be returning home. As Rick Heilman pointed out, "they are an 'All-Star' youth group!" They have been here for nearly six weeks, and have done so much!

They started with week long "boot-camp" here in Lima, where they studied the Scriptures, took a Spanish class, learned dramas, face painting, figure balloon sculpturing and clown ministry for their times of outreach.

From Lima, they traveled to Huanuco where they did evangelism in the Andean highlands. The sweltering jungle city of Atalaya was the next stop, before heading north to Cajamarca where they worked on the ground floor of a church plant. Then they went beyond the border into Ecuador where they did outreach with our sister church in Cuenca.

It has been a full six weeks, and they are going home excited for all that God did in and through them!

If you know a young person who might want to participate next Summer in our YSOM program, please pass the brochure on to them so they can consider it in prayer. Or pass the information on to a youth leader at your church. And thank you for praying for this program!

Finally, click on the following link and watch the PowerPoint presentation on Psalm 83 and join King David in his prayer for our beloved nation of Israel.

Shalom and God bless,

Missionary Updates

Please check the Information Booth for current newsletters from Peru and India! As he searched for resources, he kept on saying to himself “Someone must have done this before.” Surely there was information available, but how to find it? Surely someone had done this before, but how to find out who? Without reflection, analysis and recording of experiences, we often repeat the same mistakes that others have made before us and don’t benefit from their successes. Each day someone learns or experiences something that others can use to be more effective in ministry. How do we develop an ethos of reflective practice, passionately moving forward while taking the time to look at the past? If someone wants to share something that will help others to be more effective, how is it done? Do we have to wait until someone retires or goes on sabbatical after 20 years of service so they can write a book?

The Knowledge Stewardship Department was created to help our field workers learn from each other so that we can be more effective in church planting. One specific way Bob’s team is doing this is by the development of an interactive website. This is a virtual, secure place for our field workers to interact over specific issues related to our task. In addition to many resources on church planting in the Muslim world, topical issues are developed by the field workers themselves according to the most urgent needs. If someone in Asia has much fruit from a particular ministry, they can write about that and immediately those in Africa can learn from their experience. In addition, this site serves as a repository of our collective knowledge. When people come off the field, most of what they have learned is lost, unless they write about it. However, if over the course of 20-30 years of service, field workers write about their experiences and thoughts on particular subjects as they happen…. this will be such an immense foundation upon which new workers can build. In addition, the experience of a few can be sharpened by the experiences of hundreds as topics are debated and analyzed collectively.

One of Bob’s responsibilities is to look after the future development of this website. There are so many possibilities for this website so that field workers can become more effective faster. Please pray for wisdom and responsiveness in serving the needs of fieldworkers and that this website will develop in a way that is most glorifying to God.

Prayer for South American Outreach Teams

There is inexpressible joy in sending out
> missionaries!
>
> Yesterday morning, we sent a team of four Peruvians
> to Belize, Central America to work with teens and
> children in a youth summer camp hosted by Calvary
> Chapel of Murrieta, California. We hope that you are also seeing His blessings poured out in your lives in a very visible way.

This month a group of our church members took a day long trip to a city up in the hills called Petrópolis, about one hour and fifteen minutes from Rio. We had a great time together and we got to cool off a lot since Petrópolis has much colder weather and we’re still in winter here in Brazil. We went to a museum which showed some history of Brazil and was full of things from the mid and late 1800s. We also went to see a glass palace and a German style festival. It was a blessed time!

A few weeks ago Lílian (Pastor Alexandre’s wife) and Alessandra (a girl from our church body) started outreach to the little kids that play each Sunday morning in the square at the top of the street where the leadership of our church lives. The kids and their parents responded very well. The kids were so excited to hear that they were going to return every Sunday to sing songs and do activities with them. Bruce & Renata, Russell and Douglas will be going to reach the adults.

June 2006

We have a missionary couple in our church named Bruce & Renata Pryor. Bruce & Renata moved from the city of São Vicente to Rio de Janeiro along with Alexandre and Lílian in March of this year to help in the work here. Bruce is Pastor Alexandre’s assistant here in the church. Renata leads English classes in the church. She also is a translator and helps in organization. Pray for this missionary couple.

We have another missionary that serves in our church who also moved from the city of São Vicente and is sent from the Calvary Chapel there. Douglas also moved here at the same time as the others and serves practically in the church in areas such as cleaning and maintenance. Douglas just began ministering to people in a hospital where he is a volunteer who works with people who have tumors in their bodies. Douglas is reaching the love of Christ to these people.

On Thursday nights Russell has been giving Bible studies on profecy. Last Thursday we had our second study on this theme. These studies have been a blessing and really waking up the church body that profecy is being fulfilled and Jesus could come back at any time. Let’s all be ready! Russell will be going back to the states in August as his visa is running out.

Thank you all so much for your prayer and support!

May God bless you,

Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro

Praises:

Praise God for the doors that He has opened up to minister in the hospital and to the kids in the square!
Praise God for the Bible studies on profecy that have been a blessing
Praise God for the life of Russell who has served here for almost six months

Prayer requests:

Pray that God would use and cause these new ministries to reach souls for Him (hospital and the kids)
Pray for our missionaries Bruce & Renata and Douglas as they continue to serve here
Pray for the Holy Spirit to be waking people up to the truth of His word through the Thursday studies and that Russell who is teaching would have a blessed remainder of his time here in Brazil

If you would like be a part of the financial support for Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro money can be sent to:

Calvary Chapel Corvallis

P.O. Here is his latest update:

Dear family in Christ,

I will like to keep you up to date on the plans for the mission trip to Africa. This week I got a call from Far Reaching Ministries and Ed Gauntt and Sara B. informed me that the mission trip to Kampala, Uganda for the August 1st-14th has been cancel do to lack of members participation. They explained to me that it was only one brother from North Carolina and me that were willing to go for those dates and the time was getting to close to finalize the trip with only 2 members participating. They need at least 10 members in order to get a discount on the air fair.

Therefore, FRM suggested if I was interested to go to Nairobi, Kenya. I expressed to them that I am going to be doing God's work and I am willing to go whenever the Lord desires for me to go. The date of the trip also changed to August 10th through the 24th. I had made arrangements with work taking those days off from my vacation days. Also, I took all my vaccinations necessary to attempt this trip. With God's help, I will be ready to go to this mission trip to Kenya, and I pray that He will fill me with the Holy Spirit so I can be effective for His kingdom.

In the next couple of weeks, FRM will send me a list of things that the church at Nairobi, Kenya needs at this time. I told FRM that CCK wants to be a blessing in any way we can as a body of believers.

Please feel free to contact me at my cell 305-989-1983 or via email, if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for your help and God bless you.

Your brother in Christ,

Jesus A. We are now in the system here and everything has gone much faster than anticipated. Cindy and the children are doing well. We have made many friends and are enjoying a cool summer.

Bob's new department (Knowledge Stewardship) has now launched a secure website where our field workers spread across the 53 countries can interact with each other, download resources and find training opportunities. One of Bob's roles is to moderate this site so that our field workers can share and learn from each other in addition to having access to some of the best resources for our work. Its very exciting to see all the ways in which God is building His Church around the world.

Please pray as we look for a new house to rent. It has been amazing to see how our new friends have rallied around us and are scouring our village (called Lane End) for possibilities. We need to be out of our current house in early August and have already had two landlords reject us as possible tenants because of having four children. In our short time here we have made so many friends in the village that we really don't want to start over. God has provided some key people in our village to help and we are eagerly awaiting how He will work things out. We've given up our "right" to live in Lane End and trust that God's plans are good, no matter how things turn out.

Bob and Cindy

Peruvian Pastor Sergio Andres

We received this email on July 2 from our dear friends in Lima, Peru.

Dear Friends and Family,

Last evening, Peruvain pastor, Sergio Moreno, of one of our sister churches, Calvary Chapel Las Crucetas, went home to be with the Lord. He was 42 years old. Sergio had a brain anurism late Sunday aternoon as he prepared for his evening service. He underwent a nine hour surgery Tuesday night but his vital organs began to shut down shortly thereafter. Please pray for his wife Febe, and their four year old son Sergio Andres. Pray also for the members of the Las Crucetas church who deeply loved their pastor and are stunned by this unexpected loss. The time seems to be flying by and one more month has passed that we have been able to see the powerful hand of God working here in our midst. It is truly a great priviledge to be able to be used by the Lord for His glory!
In May we started a Bible study with some Angolans. Truly we see God’s hand in it. It had been Pastor Alexandre’s and Russell’s (one of our missionaries) desire to reach Angolans for quite a while, and God lead the church leadership to live in a neighborhood that is full of Angolans, even of which many live in the same building as two of our church’s missionaries. Praise God for that! There are many Angolans who move here to Brazil to be able to work and find a better life. Angola is a very poor country in Africa, and is full of pegan worship. We invited a handful of Angolans to have a Bible study with us. The Angolans are many times treated differently and disliked here, so they chearfully excepted. God moved and the first study (through 1 John that Russell is teaching) two Angolans excepted Christ as their Savior! The next study five Angolans came. Please pray for these Angolans as we continue the Bible studies with them every Monday!
In May we also started going out into the street on Friday nights to evangelize. It has been an edifying experience for us to see God touching lives through that. Most Fridays we go to a place called the Lapa. It’s the place where the parties and drinking are held every weekend, as well as drugs, prostitution, and just about everything immaginable. It’s the same place where you see famous people, but at the same time all these other things. The heaviness of the atmosphere can be felt just being there. Praise God that there has been many seeds planted there through this evangelism. Matt 9:37,38 “Then He said to His disciples, “the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Praise God for this opportunity to reach so many for Jesus! Pray that we could continue to minister through the radio since now the people who own the radio need to legalize their documents and fix the antenna. Because of these things the radio station will be closed for a while.
On the 27th of May the women of the church had a women’s tea at Pastor Alexandre and his wife Lílian’s house. Lílian taught a Bible study on being a godly women from the book of Ruth. The women enjoyed some good fellowship, good desert, and of course, tea. It was a blessing for the women!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
God bless you,
Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro

Praise report:
Praise God for openning up the door to minister to the Angolans and to be able to minister on the radio program
Praise God for brining this church more and more to maturity and to be more usable by Him
Praise God for recently being able to paint and fix up the church more

Prayer requests:
For the Angolan Bible study, that God would firmly ground those who accepted Jesus and that they would bring their friends and family
That God would bring people at the Lapa from darkness to light and bless the evangelism
That God would make the way for the radio program to continue, as we believe it’s His will

If you would like to be a part of the financial support for Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro money can be sent to:
Calvary Chapel Corvallis
P.O. We are beginning to make a small splash in our community that we are praying will turn into a giant ripple as new visitors show up almost weekly. Our average attendance is now in the mid-30s, and about a third of those people attend our small groups.

There are 2 exciting events that I believe are worth highlighting:

First, is our Easter service. Once again, we invited family and friends, took out an ad on the local rock station, handed out postcards, did doorhangs, and prayed, and 76 people showed up! We did a salvation invitation, but do not know the response as our room is not large enough to have people come forward to acknowledge their decision.

Additionally, we just celebrated our 1-year anniversary! We first met as a church on Sunday, June 12th 2005. And so this past Sunday we had a celebratory service (see photos) to mark our anniversary. Our church body was very energized and excited as we did a message looking back at what God has done on our behalf and looking forward to what God will do in year 2. We had 46 people in attendance, and it was probably our best service yet. We then moved to a local park and held our first annual church picnic.

There is actually an important announcement that I made during the anniversary message that I would like to share with you.(You can hear more by listening to the message called “Backwards & Forward” on our website www.calvaryhartford.com). I have been working at ADT for the past 14 months, and trying my best to balance my family, the church and my job. Needless to say, this has been difficult at best. Well, last week, after tossing the idea around in my mind for months, I got the strong sense that God was asking me to take my trust in Him to the next level. It became clear that I needed to resign from my job and put my efforts into the ministry full-time. Those of you know me, know I am not lazy (I actually liked my job w/ ADT and was successful at it), but I really sensed that we could be so much more effective if I could give all my work efforts to the church body and developing outreach to the community.

So I went to work, and told my boss my thoughts and he was very supportive. I was so excited…until the drive home where I contemplated the very real question “Am I crazy?!?” I began to be reassured as Becky was very supportive and that same day, I got an e-mail from a family that attends our church indicating that they believed that God also wanted me to really devote myself to the ministry in a full-time capacity. Attached to the e-mail was a letter they are sending to their personal friends along with a commitment form. I called this person and told him the step of faith I had taken that day, and how awesome and encouraging it was to get his e-mail. We both were blown away sensing that God was orchestrating something behind the scenes. At present, we have raised some support through some churches and a few individuals and we are working on raising the rest (the letter and form Luke and Melissa wrote are attached in case you are interested in helping). We believe if we can raise support for 1 year, the church will be in a good position to sustain my salary after that.

As we move ahead, we completely trust in God’s provision and anticipate that God will do some wonderful things in year two of Calvary Fellowship. Let me again thank all of you for partnering with us in the work God is doing here. The prayer support, the financial support, and the words of encouragement have meant so much to our family and our church. You all play an important part in impacting the New England mission field for Christ. Thank you!

Godspeed,

Bill, Rebecca, Emily and Lily LaMorey

www.calvaryhartford.com

"How Great is our God!!"

Hello to my Calvary Chapel family!!!

Thank you for you for all your prayers!! We just love it here!!
Just to think that our trip will soon be over makes us sad. To wake up and see a beautiful blue sky without one cloud in it, it is truly a magnificent sight. Also, to see a nightsky filled with bright stars, moon, and city lights makes it all so special that I try to absorb it all to remember it.

These last few days have flown by so quickly that it is hard to believe that the weekend is here again. We have done so many different things and blessed so many people, not knowing that in return we were receiving the blessings from them!!

Everywhere we went, people have called out to us saying, "Welcome, welcome" even as we walked through the marketplace. The families that have invited us over have been teachers and people who have NOT received their monthly payments for over three months!! Yet these people offer you so many things to eat that you would think you were in a restaurant having a five to six course meal!! The minute you arrive, so do the cups and the three kinds of sodas. Next comes the coffee and the list goes on. Please pray that these people receive thier pay. Teachers that have not been paid continue to go to work on a daily basis. They say that they do it for the children.

We have learned some Arabic language and I want to share just one little phrase:
"Yasuua ma'aTHamaka" This means "Jesus, how GREAT YOU are". It is part of a song that we learned and Heather and I seem to sing it or hum it regularly.

We got to meet an elderly lady at Calvary Chapel Jerusalem who is a Holocaust survivor. She was so small and cute. She had beautiful blue eyes and she reflected
so much LOVE in her. She kept on hugging me and I held on to her for a long time. That is about all that I could do because she only spoke Russian. I told her that I would take her home with me and she just had a glowing smile.

We also met other people of this land that touched our hearts. Meanwhile we had so much fun that we also acted as silly goofballs!!

Enjoy the pictures!!

Love,
Lucy

****En Espanol: Mami te quiero mucho y me alegro saber que has podido ir a la iglesia y compartir con Mari Hafner y Mary Roman, que han sido una bendicion para nosotras al igual que muchos mas. We would again like to apologize for the lack of posts, but as I said before, we've been really busy! But "il hum
dili luh" (praise God in Arabic) that all is going extremely well and we feel your prayers!

Over the past couple of days we've worked in the community center's summer camp, did office work for the Musalaha ministry in Jerusalem, did more garden work and cleaning, visited another refugee camp, spent more time in prayer and fellowship, and in about an hour or so we will head out to an orphanage to do some activities with the kids.

Thanks again for all the prayers! We can't wait to come back and share the deeper things that God has been doing in and through us! this is Pat. I'm not in the Holy Land, but I wanted to let you all know that I just spoke on the phone with most of the team. They all sound absolutely GREAT! Most of their highlights so far have not been seeing all the wonderful sights, but meeting all the wonderful people - people that give everything when they have nothing.

Mission trips change your life; they improve your perspective and worldview. It's awesome to see that happening in Pedro, Josh, Arlene, Michi, Maydi, Luci, and Heather.

Father, we pray for our friends and family that are on the other side of the globe serving you. Thank you for protecting them, using them, changing them. We continue to lift them up, Lord, because we know that they depend on prayer. We can serve with them as we pray. Bless them, fill them, and use them. Thank you, Jesus, for all that You do. Amen.

A Long Awaited Update

Hey family, it's Michi! We're EXTREMELY SORRY for slacking off on the blog, but we have been either too busy or too exhausted to update! We just got back this evening from our weekend touring, and I'm surprised that I have enough energy to put this one up!

Since our last post we have been joined by a group from Australia, and have been doing all kinds of work ranging from cataloguing books in a Bible College library, to sweeping up a construction site at a local community center. We have also had several prayer meetings, have done some major gardening, and have visited an orphanage which we plan on visiting again this Friday. This week is also going to be very busy, so would really appreciate your prayers back home. Pray that God would continue to open doors and keep us safe as we go out onto the mission field.

After a long week of hard work, we headed out early Saturday morning to do some touring. We went to Cesarea where we saw the old city, Haifa where we saw Elijah's tomb, Nazareth where we saw the church of Enunciation, and then spent the night on the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias. This morning we went to the mount of Beattitudes where we spent some time in worship and in the Word, Capernaum where we saw ruins of Peter's home and an old synagogue, the Jordan River where some of us were baptized, and then swimming in the Dead Sea. Tired? You bet we are! But we all had a great time and are really looking forward to seeing some more sites next weekend!

I know this has been a pretty vague update, but my brain isn't functioning properly enough to give more details. I hope the pictures say a little more. Anyway, we miss you guys VERY MUCH, and REALLY appreciate all your comments! Keep writing back! God bless!

PS: Mom, Dad, Tito, and Mely: I love and miss you guys SOO much! I'll be trying to get in contact with you some time this week...

Community Center:
<img src="http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/michi1407/Israel/DSCF0006.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - It would not be real if we write only of the blessings and not of the struggles. The other day, we learned that many times people need to be brought to the desert before there can be a paradigm shift (in perspective) in their hearts for there to be reconciliation. Our team is beginning to experience that shift in our perspective spiritually. We are being changed into the likeness of Christ, not only by living together 24 hrs a day, but by taking up a new identity to serve others more than ourselves.

Today, we went on a prayer walk around the city. Oh, yes up hills, through the stones, and dusty paths. We understand why the context of shaking dust of your feet really does apply. As well as being covered in the dust of your Rabbi. In fact maybe we should do a feet washing like Jesus gave his disciples, hopefully Josh won't mind since his name is Joshua.

We were able to serve families by listening to their needs and praying with them. Being here makes one really face John 3:16 "For God so loved the WORLD, that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." We are His treasures. Tonight we really were praising God because of His lavish Grace upon us here. We love you, until our next update Grace be with you!

-Heather

Our group family night:

Before our walk:

Group prayer:

Natie and Berny: Look! I would like to especially give a "shout out" to my Single -Minded Ministry family to let you all know that from the moment I stepped into the Holy Land It has felt like my home away from home - I love the people and we have been welcomed where ever we go- we have many stories to share when we all return.
Yesterday we all worshipped with our new family here and it has been awesome to hear the Lord being praised and worshipped in another language! I would like to thank all of those that have been praying for us and continue to pray that God continues to have His way. Also pray for me ...Arlene and I have cooking duties so pray the Lord will bless the food. I send my love to Monica, Didio, all of my Single Minded brothers and sisters, to my family and friends back home-All is well. I leave you with this verse to encourage Single Minded---1 Cor.7:34-35 The unmarried to care about the things of the Lord that they may be holy in body and in spirit..that you may serve the Lord without distraction. This has been the Lord's answer prayer for all of us.

Maydi

More Pictures:
<img src="http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/michi1407/Israel/DSC00107112.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - I am really happy to be a part of this team. It is wonderful to be the first ones here from CCK in 2006. We are all doing just fine and rejoicing in the Lord.

Hello to my family, coworkers and brothers & sisters in Christ.

Shalom from us in the Holy Land!!

Lucy

P.S. You may have heard of me from your kids as "Miss Michi." Anyway, I figured you guys would be sick of getting only one perspective (sorry Pedro), so I decided to update the blog myself. You'll also be hearing from the rest of the group throughout the next two weeks as we alternate updating our trip experiences.

When foreigners enter the United States they're sometimes welcomed by Mickey Mouse, and I found it comical that here in Israel I also was greeted by a mouse... IN MY SUITCASE!!! Thankfully, I'm not exactly the kind of person you would consider "girly," so I woke the others girls with a loud laugh instead of a blood-curling scream. Aside from nibbling through Heather's nuts, a bag of MnMs, and my bath rag, no serious harm was done. I think we're going to be OK. (For those of you who are wondering, I guided the little guy out to our rose garden safely... I think he was really cute, but the others tend to disagree!)

Anyway, I'm blown away at the fact that this is only our first full day here and it has already been an incredible blessing! Everything is absolutely beautiful! The weather has been blistering during the day but surprisingly cool at night. We're all anticipating to see the rest of the Holy Land in the coming weekends!

This morning we spent sometime in prayer and worship, and than set out for a good hour and a half walking around and praying for the area we are staying in. We were joined by a group of about 20 people here and we split off into 8 groups, each having a specific topic to pray for. These areas included government, economy, hospitals, churches, communications, arts and media, schools, and sports. God moved strongly in each group by placing verses in our hearts and opening doors to speak to and even pray for some of the local people here. When we reunited we spent our time sharing personal experiences and praying for the needs of the community that God revealed to us.

I also invite you guys back home to pray for the situation here as well. It's amazing how such a small area can so drastically attract the attention of the entire world. The needs are countless, but we can see that God is undeniably moving in this place by bringing His people to do His work. Pray that He would protect his laborers and continue to send more; the harvest is definitely full!

In closing, I'd like to thank all of you for your prayers and encouragement on behalf of the team! We have definitely felt them and were blessed with 3 month visas and a Shalom welcome at the airport in Tel Aviv, which are oftentimes hard to come by. We are praying that things will go just as smoothly while leaving, which is usually much more difficult than coming in. I pray that all is well back home, we miss you dearly! God bless!

Our arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv:

It was a LONG trip...

The group briefing before our prayer walk:

I hope you enjoyed the pictures, I'll be posting more as the days come so continue checking for updates!

Ready to Rumble

We're here at CCK, half of the group is here, we're all excited about the trip, we're about 20 minutes away from leaving so we're ready to go.

Galilee

The Galilee area in Northern Israel has to be one of the most beautiful places in all of the world, it would've been really hard for me 2000 years ago to leave this tropical paradise to travel south to Jerusalem, which is engulfed by a desolate desert wasteland. The only complaint I have about the Galilee is the party boats that destroy the ambiance, GET OUT OF HERE WITH THOSE STUPID BOATS!! The last thing on my mind when I was sitting out by the water on a windy Galilee night is going out on one of those boats. The Galilee is a tropical paradise surrounded by rolling hills and mountains.

There's plenty to do out there, there are hot springs, old church, old capernaum is there, the mount of the beatitudes, there's water sports, hiking, mountain biking, and even hang gliding.

Yummy

It's Pedro again, and I'm not sure if I'm using this blog for its intended purpose or not BUT I feel the need to address the food situation, I love felafel, and shwarma, and mint tea, and the coffee over there is awesome, so the food is just one other thing to add to the list of things that I'm looking forward to . One of the things that I enjoyed most about Israel when I went last year was the Old City in Jerusalem. The markets are incredible, all these exotic foods and herbs and spices, there's all these different types of smells, its sensory overload! One of my favorite things to do was to just walk around the Old City, there's a certain allure to it, it has a mysterious nature, maybe not to the people who are there every day but to me it does, especially at night.

Walking around the Old City at night is awesome, there are lights that hit up the outside stone walls, it just looks so cool, and visiting the Wailing Wall in the middle of the night was definitely a cool experience. This is just one of the many experiences that I'll enjoy this summer, I really didn't think that I would've gone back, praise the Lord that His plans for me are bigger and more exciting than my plans for me.

YES!!

YES!!!

8 days and counting down until we take off on our missions trip to the Holy Land.

I'm incredibly excited and I can't wait to see what God is going to do over there.
